以前不懂什么叫 blues ，搜索了一下，原来如此：
Blues 即蓝调，在英文中是苦、忧郁的意思。虽然爵士乐包括黑人音乐、英国歌曲、法国舞蹈音乐等等，但 Blues是爵士乐的主要成分。Blues产生的时间比爵士乐早，可能是综合了19世纪后半期黑人们演唱的田间号子、宗教歌曲< 灵歌>和诉说的民谣演变而来的。

Blues 的音乐特点，主要在于大调音阶上降第三级音和降第七级音，有时也降第五级音。这些降半音的音符有小调性的特征，而且唱到这些音时常常带有滑音、颤音，听起来哀声怨语，悲恸凄楚，感情十分丰富，所以也有人将Blues译为“怨歌。当然，Blues 歌曲也有一些欢乐、愉悦的作品。Blues 的速度舒缓，节拍常为四二拍、四四拍，旋律多含切分节奏。Blues 的演唱风格很自由，同生活中的语言情绪结合很紧，假声、呻吟、哭泣、嘟囔都可以用来渲染烘托气氛。

Blues 这种底层社会的气质，给以后早期爵士乐带来了同劳动人民生活、同黑人民间音乐紧密相连的特色（以上介绍来自半开的抽屉）。
